The Trump Network SCAM - Donald Trump MLM Program
Supposedly the founder of The Trump Network is Donald Trump. At first I found it hard to believe, but after visiting the site, I found a video featuring Donald Trump talking about The Trump Network, so I guess it’s true. But what’s very bizarre is how scammy the program is; you wouldn’t expect Donald Trump to be promoting a scam, would you?
Anyways, the Trump Network is an MLM program. If you want all the details on MLM Program (scams) check out my article. But here’s a quick summary of how MLM’s work:
You sign up and pay money to work.
You are supposed to get a return on your money but there’s so many “hitches” to it that barely anyone ever actually gets to meet the criteria to get a return.
You give up on the MLM program and throw away your investment.
The person who runs the MLM keeps your money. This person does this to thousands of people and has made millions of dollars.
Sounds like a great thing to get involved with, right? No.
So this is how the Trump Network works:
You pay $60 to “join”. They give you two $50 off coupons, a shipment of a box of “Weight loss products that will cost you $130 a month (billed to your credit card), a DVD that teaches you how to sell these products and enroll you into another program (cost: $20 a month). I guess you watch the DVD and learn how to “sell” these weight loss products. Then you have to sell the products in order to earn commission.
Since you have to pay $60 to join the program, then $130 a month for the products that are auto-shipped to you and $20 a month for the second membership, you will start the month being $210 in the hole. So you will need to sell at least $211 in products your first month to make $1. Now the second month you will *only* be starting off $150 in debt. (FYI: After a years time, you will have paid almost $2,000 to The Trump Network, providing I am aware of all the fees. There could be more that I don’t know about.)
According to the website, the *best* way to make money is to refer other people to become salespeople. In order to get paid for a referral, you will have to have someone register to become a member and pay all the associated fees. (Good friggin luck. I sure as hell am NOT signing up for this.). If someone DOES do this, you will earn $100 per person…but it appears you can only refer up to 5 people, so your earnings will be capped at $500…
Lets just say you are really convinced that this is a great way to make money… 1.) You’re an idiot and 2.) Please try alternatives that DON’T cost you money –
You can sign up for FREE through companies like shareasale.com and pick and chose what merchant you want to work for. Lets say you want to sell products like “The Trump Network” offers – why not register with DietDirect.com or Everest Nutrition and promote their products? You’ll get paid 20% - 30% of EACH SALE – with NO COST to you! You don’t ever have to worry about buying products or storing products.
Paying to work is NEVER a good way to go because you can fail and will lose all of your investment. Just because a celebrity says it’s a good idea doesn’t mean it is.
ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW:
Yes, if you look up The Trump Network online you will likely see lots of sites that say its sooooo great. These sites are looking to make $100 off you by having you join. I don’t see a single proof of payment anywhere from anybody who is soooo happy with this program. You’d better believe that if anyone REALLY got a check for $10,000 that they would plaster it all over the internet.
And another note – don’t register for programs that require you to “request more information” to find out the details of the program. Legitimate programs are going to have all the details laid out clearly for you to view on the website. There should be a Terms & Conditions page that you can view at any time. Companies that make you submit your private information in order to “learn more about the program” are trying to sucker you in. Once they have your address, phone number and email they are able to attempt to manipulate you into making purchases by using a variety of sales tactics: pushy sales people, emails designed to convince/persuade you into buying and mailers that lead you to believe you have been selected for something when you really haven’t.

" RE: The Trump Network
Dear [name]:
I represent The Trump Network (“TTN”). TTN has learned that you have acquired contact information for a number of TTN Marketers, and seeking to use TTN’s network as a conduit to market other products or services. Although your Marketer Agreement with TTN has been terminated, you nevertheless remain bound by an ongoing obligation not to use TTN’s confidential information. TTN therefore demands that you immediately stop contacting TTN’s Marketers for any purpose. Should you fail to do so, TTN will institute legal proceedings against you seeking injunctive relief, damages, attorneys fees and costs. This will be the only warning you will receive from TTN.
This letter is written under full reservation of rights.
Sincerely,

Most people fail at MLM because of all the time they spend doing stuff that doesn't get them paid.
MLM is real simple. It's just organizing customers who buy a product. There's two kinds of customers, those with checks, and those without. Those with checks like the products more, and buy more products.
If you want to skip failure, you must have (or get) some influence. That influence must get people to join, buy products, and influence others to do the same thing. Otherwise, it won't work for you, even in Donald Trump's company. He who has the most influence wins.
Most people in MLM are ignorant, but they're not idiots. They don't join to quit or fail, but what they don't realize is that they either have no influence or they spend too much time doing things that don't pay.
Very smart article you have here.
